Rawley + Aaron | Engagement

My friend Rawley left this week on a flight for Maui to prep for her big day. 30 close family and friends will be witness to their vow exchange next weekend. I wish with all my might we could have made it work to go. Thinking about Rawley tonight I realized that it's not too late to post their e-session I did for them about three months back!

These photos were taken at her parents house around the old horse barn. Gorgeous light, gorgeous weather and the location was easy peasy to access. No hiking out to a field, the barn is just beside the driveway. Doesn't appear that way huh?

Rawley and I met when we were in 5th grade. Our family built a home in her families neighborhood and our parents still live there. I don't know much about Aaron(I'm pretty sure he's great) but I do know Rawley is and always was a laid back and kind, hardworking girl. She's also a soon to be dentist(or are you technically one already?)! Rawley has worked hard to get what she wants out of life and I'm so excited for her to cross this milestone.

Congrats Rawley and Aaron, I'm super duper happy for you!

Wedding E-Zine | Resources

A new online magazine called Utterly Engaged has come across my radar and it's too gorgeous not to be mentioned. Whether you are soon to be married or not even close take a gander it's full of inspiring photos. I'm totally going to have a party based on the above photo as inspiration. I collect milk glass and fire king's jadeite wear so it's totally doable. I just need an occasion to celebrate. House warming?

Speaking of house warming our move to Kansas City is complete and we are officially Kansas Citians now! Yikes that sounds weird. After 26 years in Manhattan.

We have spent our weekends the past two months in Kansas City house hunting, finalizing, moving and unpacking with the exception of our trip to Lake Powell in Utah. Our weeks were lived in Manhattan, Kan. at the in-laws. We are absolutely sick of the back and forth travel and can't wait for a normal boring routine to begin at our new home!

Girly Room | Life

I've been spinning ideas for a year now on how I'd like to do the girl's areas of our home. I can't wait to find a house and start turning this idea board into reality. One thing I haven't decided is if this board is for their room or the play room.

How many of you have play rooms? I never had one growing up, but my sister and I never shared a room either. Do they work or do all the toys seems to land back in their bedrooms?

Thinking the bedroom will be just for beds and clothes, possibly a book nook. And then the play room will be where all the toys are along with our montessori materials. So a play room/montessori classroom. But I'm wondering if a play/montessori room will be hard to accomplish and use successfully. Who wants to focus on class activities when you have toys to play with, slides to slide and swings to swing. So we might instead designate a toys area in a finished basement. Or maybe the classroom materials go in the basement? Decisions.

Any way we work it I love this idea board for the girls. Blacks, pinks, whites and yellows. Love the white walls and pink ceiling in that photo on the top right. Our crib is a white jenny lind and I'm back and forth if the girls should have bunks or two jenny lind beds. Thoughts? Kmart has them for the best deal but they'd need to be painted. They have a pink "For Like Ever" poster (bought when it wasn't so popular and a lot cheaper) that will always be a part of their room. Something to remind them that they are stuck in our family and with each other no matter what. Evil I know. Other than that it'll take some messing around to see what I end up with but this idea board is my visionary starting point.

I love idea boards. If you are planning a wedding you should check out Snippets and Ink she has excellent inspiration boards to get themes and colors schemes going.
